The rush from hooking into a Bluefish 30 inches or bigger is an adrenalin rush. Especially fishing non blitzing conditions when out of no where a Gator slams a plug and the drag is coming off the real and the rod is bent big time. Mayhem.
Some pics and stories.
2015 South Side Montauk, Gator on SS Popper
2015, back of Moses. No hint of fish present, HH Metal Lips getting Cranked
2014, bunker getting harassed and a few Blues chasing them. Was all alone and picked up this one nice and close, great fight.
Big plug, got walloped by a Gator at Demo Hit in nice and close from no where. Early false dawn.
3 of 7 caught on town beach, 2014, These were fun, caught on looong casts. Had to work for them. No blitz, just long casts and a possible hook up on the first 20 yards of the retrieve. Found them and was all alone. Green Ava worked. Red tailed Ava ignored.
Caught a bunch of nice Blues on this needle
Gator on HH Metal Lip (largest that day) July 2nd
Bayside, real nice fight
Slammed the Hogy and tore up the place in the early AM
I like the Dookster a lot. Bass and Blues like it too, they really crash the plug
Very memorable Gator. Bayside, calm water, Danny swimming in close to shore and this Gator just smashes the plug. Water everywhere, the place was destroyed. Drag screaming. One of the best fish I have caught, mean fish
This morning caught a lot of Blues, this was the biggest. One of the best mornings I had. Tony Spina and HH Plugs. They would not hit metal
Hit in the pocket at the jetty
