My Dad

Dad with a Striper

Here is picture of my Dad with his biggest Striper.
He taught me how to fish for Sunnys, then Large Mouth Bass, Small Mouths then Trout. Family trips to Vermont, seeing my uncle, catching small mouths……the legend of Lash Larou…
We had so much fun fly fishing, me him and my brother. We would took trips to Roscoe and fish the streams up there. One morning we each caught over 40 trout. Never had a day like that before or after, we had a ball. We fished the Flat Brook in Northern Jersey many times. The three of us would always have a great time fishing together. I remember my brother fishing a muddler minnow and scoring big on the Flat brook one morning while me and Dad got skunked. The day we “discovered” Morey Eels and basically ran on water. Loved the times we fly fished together.
Then we started to fish the surf and that became my favorite place to fish.
On our first trip to Island Beach I went with my brother in-law and his father and my father. The first day the three of them each caught a big (15+ pounds) Blue Fish. First time  I ever saw a Blue Fish caught from the surf and the biggest I had ever seen anywhere. Next day I caught my first Stripers (one 29″). I was hooked on surf fishing from the day they caught the Blues.
The four of us took an annual “full moon” trip to Island Beach for a few years. The best of times.
