Here are the other items that I use:
Casting with braid is tough on the index finger. I always wrap my index finger with Johnson and Jonson waterproof tape. The width is 1″. They changed the material back around 2012, and while the new material is not as good as the old, it still works fine. I wrap the top of the finger so there is one layer on the skin. I then apply a lot of pressure and basically laminate the finger nail and the tape. I also would put a layer on the pinkie of my other hand so I can pull the line off of the spool.
For light in the night I have used this Rayovac head light around my neck since 2002. Waterproof, good battery light, red LED, 2 settings for white light.
When fishing cold weather I use the Windstopper Foldover Mitt, when cold I put the mitts on to warm up.
